Join us on Earth Day for The Golden Salamander Book Launch, Wednesday, April 22nd, 4 pm, with authors Monica and Will Carpenter.
This book is a dialogue between an art therapist and an environmental educator, between a mother and a son. It is a conversation about nature, art, and story, discussing eco-literacy, art therapy, and environmental education. This book will be of significant professional interest to educators, teachers, art therapists, counsellors, social workers, parents, children, and youth care workers. Our intention is to reawaken perception, to recognize truth with a felt sense and give expression through our creativity. The story starts in the darkness of winter and builds through the cycles towards the light.

Come join renowned storyteller and peformer, Ivan Coyote, as they share some brand new work. Bring your hankie and be ready to laugh until you cry!
Warning: these stories might cause queer joy.
Born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, they are the author of 13 books, the creator of 4 films, 7 stage shows, and 3 albums that combine storytelling with music. Coyote’s books have won the ReLit Award, the B.C. Book Prize for Writing That Provokes, has been named a Stonewall Honour Book, longlisted for Canada Reads, shortlisted for the Hilary Weston Prize for non-fiction, and the Governor General’s Award for non-fiction twice.
This event takes place at the United Church at 602 Silica St.
Rayya Liebich Book Launch – Milk Teeth Saturday, May 9th 7 pm
Rayya Liebich’s new hybrid memoir, “Milk Teeth,” published by Pownal Street Press, will be released in time for Mother’s Day. This book explores the decade when the author both became a mother and lost her own.
Book Making Workshop
Join local artist Sarah Cowan for a two-part book-making workshop. On Thursday, May 14, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, (second part Friday, May 15th, 2 – 4 pm. All materials supplied. $40 for members, $45 for non-members. Space is limited. REGISTER HERE.

Join us on the first Thursday of the month for a casual drop-in collage space. We have some stellar content to create unique, stunning papercraft works.

Our team is critically examining our policies, collections, exhibitions, and programs to ensure that everyone feels welcomed, safe, and included.
