Deep Roots explores the regional history and relationship to the lumber industry. From the early settler days of logdriving down Kootenay Lake, to the Eddy Match Company’s matchstick factory, to the Save Cottonwood movement, the show features themes of resource extraction, land use, environmentalism and climate change, homebuilding, energy use, wildfire mitigation, and more. The story is told through personal histories, photographs, and artifacts from the Shawn Lamb Archives.
Deep Roots opens on Friday, June 6 at 7pm. Join us for refreshments and to explore the art and history of Kootenay forests. This event is FREE and open to the public.
