An exhibition of graduate student work from the Kootenay School of the Arts at Selkirk College (KSA) Class of 2009.
KSA is an accredited post-secondary educational institution offering a 2-Year Diploma in art, craft and design with a major in one of three studios: Clay, Fibre, or Jewellery & Small Object Design. KSA also offers a 1-Year Certificate in Metal studio arts.
KSA’s programs place emphasis on the skills necessary to become a successful and professional arts practitioner. Small class sizes, a faculty of working artists or craftspeople, and after-hours studio access contribute to KSA’s goal of attaining excellence as a leader in craft and design education. Hands-on studio work combined with the study of design, drawing, history, and professional practices leads to an in-depth understanding and refined ability to apply the essential elements for success in a competitive cultural market place.
This year marks the third annual presentation of KSA graduate student work at Touchstones Nelson. Students represented in the exhibition worked closely with gallery curators to install and display their work to professional standards. A work from this exhibition will be chosen to represent the 2009 Graduate Class in the Kootenay School of the Arts Collection at Touchstones Nelson.
