Take a walk through Roxanne!

Roxanne, filmed in the summer of 1986 in Nelson, is a beloved romantic comedy. The story was adapted for film by Steve Martin, who also plays the lead character CD Bales. Darryl Hannah stars opposite him in the role of Roxanne, and Rick Rossovich plays CD’s friend, Chris.

The film captured Nelson’s heritage homes and historic fire hall, rich landscapes, looming mountains, and quirky streets and businesses. Roxanne put the small mountain town of Nelson on the map for the world to see! The Roxanne tour was originally produced in 2019 by a group of volunteers at the Nelson Museum, and was reproduced in 2023 by the Nelson Museum, with financial support from Nelson Kootenay Lake Tourism.
