TURRET SESSIONS
Hear this.
The Nelson Museum, Archives & Gallery turret performance series is a sonic reimagining of the historic turret in the heritage post office and city hall building. Aligning with the New Echoes in the Staircase mural residency, the Turret Sessions aim to impact the nature of the site through sound art and performance – opening the turret, the organization, and the streetscape below, to new artistic possibilities.
Season One is live!
Season One features performances from spoken word poets Smokii Sumac and Josephine Patookas, and a free improvisation from turntables DJ Olive.
Special thanks to Adam O. Thomas, Nelson from Nelson, and Roger Swan at Hallowed Sound for supporting this project. If you would like to be a part of upcoming seasons email programs@nelsonmuseum.ca for more information.
