River of Memory

Over 60 stunning historical photographs, gathered from 30 collections, showed the unobstructed Columbia River flowing from its source in the mountains of Canada to the waters of the Pacific Ocean. An artful blending of the photographs with maps, poetry, soundscapes, text and hand painted illustrations of native Columbia River fish captivated visitors’ senses. Organized by the Wenatchee Valley Museum.

Ursula Heller: Powerhouse

A collection of black and white photographs documenting the construction of the Brilliant Dam project. The images capture the progress of a grand-scale project and the people working on it. Sponsored by Columbia Power Corporation and Columbia Basin Trust.

Freshly Squeezed: Design is Everywhere

A multi-media exhibition produced through the collaborative efforts of Freshly Squeezed, a group of seventeen Nelson-based, internationally-practicing designers from various fields. This exhibition focused on demystifying the world and process of ‘design’. Through interpretive modules the viewer was invited to participate in a fun, interactive and innovative environment.

Birth of the Blue-Line and Other Stories

Celebrating Nelson’s hockey heritage – this exhibition comprised of hockey artifacts, memorabilia, moments from Nelson’s hockey history and colourful anecdotes – it ran concurrent with CBC’s Hockey Day in Canada events at Nelson’s Recreation Centre on Saturday, Jan 13th.

The Alcuin Society is a Vancouver based non-profit society dedicated to promoting a wider appreciation of books and reading. The Society’s interests include authorship, publishing, book design and production, bookselling, book buying and collecting, printing, binding, papermaking, calligraphy and illustration. The exhibition presents a selection of books from the 36 winning titles chosen from the 296 entries received from across 9 provinces and 101 publishers.
